Some of my highlights

I am a Registered Social Worker (#09850) with the BC College of Social Workers and I have been involved in the counselling field since 2001. I was inspired to become a therapist after living in northern British Columbia for 5 years and working with the child and youth mental health team. That experience nurtured my passion for supporting families and individuals as they navigate through their journeys of life. I have a master’s degree in social worker and a bachelor’s degree in child and youth care.

I specialize in anxiety, depression, sexual trauma, grief and complex eating behaviours/disorders. I am certified in “Craving Change” which is a cognitive behavioral program that provides strategies and tools to support people with the “whys” and “how’s” of their eating patterns. In addition, I also support those struggling with workplace stress, self-esteem, parenting challenges and complex medical issues.

I am a gentle and reflective therapist and my hope is that clients are empowered through the process of therapy but are also able to move forward with practical strategies. I work from an attachment-based approach; interweaving in several different treatment modalities; depending on what works for the client. I strive to help clients connect to their core sense of self by helping to link them to their bodies, minds, and emotions. Some of the treatment modalities that I use are emotion-focused therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing/brief solution focused therapy and narrative therapy.

On a personal note, I am married and have two teenagers and two cats. My teens keep me humble and ready to pivot through parenting challenges. I am also a long distance runner and spend most of my free time running through the trails and roads of Kamloops.
