
Protecting Client Confidentiality:
At Synergy Counselling, we are committed to maintaining the confidentiality and privacy of all our clients. In accordance with British Columbia’s Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA), we adhere to strict policies regarding the disclosure of personal information.
Inquiries About Clients:
- Non-Disclosure Policy: We cannot confirm or deny whether an individual is receiving or has received services from our office. This policy ensures the privacy and confidentiality of all our clients.
- Third-Party Requests: If you are seeking information about someone else’s counselling services, please be aware that we are unable to provide any details without explicit documented consent from the individual concerned.
If you believe you must communicate with one of our counsellors about the needs of a client, we encourage you to first speak directly with them about their preferences for communication with our team. If the client wishes for us to receive any information or messages from you, they will need to complete a consent form, which they can obtain by contacting our office.
* Please note that requests for information about mature minors from family members are treated as third-party requests and are subject to the same confidentiality policies.
For Urgent or Immediate Safety Concerns:
Please note that our office operates during business hours and our counsellors do not offer emergency services. If your reason for contacting of office is urgent or involves immediate safety concerns, please consider the following resources:

Contact the BC Crisis Line at 1-800-SUICIDE (1-800-784-2433) or visit your local hospital emergency room. - For Child Protection Concerns:
If you are worried about the safety of a child, contact the Ministry of Children and Family Development (MCFD) at 1-800-663-9122. - For Immediate Safety Issues:
In cases where there is an immediate risk to safety, contact the RCMP or local law enforcement by calling 911.
